New & News @ Savour Wine & Cheese

SATURDAY COMPLIMENTARY WINE TASTINGS ARE BACK @ SAVOUR!

WHAT: we are excited to announce that this Saturday, June 26th Savour’s popular, complimentary wine tastings are back, big time!  Wine maven Gary Ballard of MS Walker will be pouring an exciting lineup of very special wines, 5 bottles that may be new to your palette.  And as before,
the tasting is elevated by customers  using our imported Riedel stemware.

WHY: because it’s the right time for Savor’s signature Saturday wine event to return, the opportunity to introduce tasters to wines that have distinctive qualities…unique grape varietals from ascending and prized wine regions, featuring innovative vintners producing biodynamic wines of noteworthy complexity… the perfect occasion to experience the new

Gary Ballard, MS Walker

WHO: MS Walker’s Gary Ballard together with Savor’s Kathleen Morgan have assembled an eclectic mix of renowned vintners and small artisan producers whose wines deserve a
special showcase

WHEN: This Saturday, June 26th from 1 to 3pm at Savour

HOW: Savour’s Saturday tastings are complimentary as is parking in Savor’s lot behind the store with rear entrance.

To Celebrate Renewing the Saturday Wine Tastings the following five wines Gary and Kathleen have selected with Kathleen’s comments offer a wide range of experiences to explore

Merlin Macon La Roche Vineuse – Burgundy, France, 25.99
crisp, clean, flinty and dry from the famed La Roche Vineuse of southern Macon, chalky Chardonnay made by one of the appellation’s greatest winemakers, Olivier Merlin

Montinore Estate Vivace sparkling wine, Oregon – $21.99
,  Estate-grown, a biodynamically farmed blend of Gewürztraminer, Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Gris and Riesling.  Aromatic and luscious – so refreshing on a summer day!

Karl Lagler Riesling Smaragd, Eimerberg, Austria – $37.99.  One of my favorite wines and certainly my favorite Riesling!  Apricots, white pepper and ginger with plentiful floral notes – a rare Smaragd named after the green – think “Geiko” – lizards that populates the vineyards.  Delicious alone …a wine that elevates every meal.

Poseidon Estate Carneros Pinot Noir – $37.99 – a spicy, velvety pinot, rich with summer berry fruit, aged in Hungarian oak barrels made on premise at the winery, from grapes grown high up on the Obsidian Ridge.  Cool night and warm days make for a complex, layered Pinot Noir.  A great find for grilled salmon or steak salad with mushrooms!

The Pairing Red Blend – $24.99, a rich, powerful red blend of cabernet, merlot, cab franc, and petit verdot, structured but elegant with black currant, cassis, cedar and leather.  The ideal wine for accompanying a grilled juicy steak!

Adding to the MS Walker Saturday tasting is Savour’s Everyday Tech Tasting at the North Shore’s Only Digital Wine Machine.
Currently offering the June-July selections of 20 wines to sample and yes, complimentary …the occasion to try a diverse collection of seasonally paired wines, whites – reds – rose enjoyed with Riedel imported stemware, a good way to experience the color, take in the aroma and, of course the taste at your pace. The wine machine is a breeze to use with the 20 wine selections rotating bi-monthly.

Please Note: If you haven’t received your vaccinations, we would ask you wear a mask when not tasting wines.  Thank you for this accommodation for our mutual well-being.
