WHAT: Join us this Saturday, November 20th for a complimentary, timely, holiday focused tasting, featuring unexpected selections with wine sage Bob McVicker . Bob is pouring wines from Masciarelli Wine Co. International Portfolio representing: Alsace, Lombardia, Luxembourg, Italy north & south, and classic Saint-Emilion…tasters will experience 6 wines, 3 reds / 3 whites, bottles that may be new to your palette. As always, the tasting is elevated using our imported Riedel stemware.

WHY: The occasion to experience wines with wide-ranging qualities…distinctive varietals, some rare blends that define these storied wine regions. For this tasting it’s wine that aptly complements Thanksgiving dining including appetizers to small plates, with rich sauces and fowl (duck to pheasant to turkey) in mind. Tasting: Bright and subtle notes of green pear on the nose of this wine promise freshness. The palate presents citrus fruits in a harmonious, bright and juicy flavor experience with a fresh, dry finish. La Novella Bianco, Alpi Retiche, Pietro Nera, Lombardia, It., Alc., 12.5%, Varietal:
Rossola Nera, Manzoni Bianco, Chardonnay, Nebbiolo Tasting: Crisp, fresh fruit. Pours straw with green highlights, and an intense aroma profile featuring lemon, green apple, floral, and wet stone characters, showing firm acidity. A rare white blend. Pairs well: pasta, shellfish, soft cheese, white lean fish, cured meats, roasted veggies
Domaine Clos Des Rochers, Grevenmacher, Luxembourg Moselle, Riesling, 2018, Varietal: Riesling, Alc. 12.5, Tasting: This is a perfectly faultless crisp, hand-harvested, premier Luxembourg Riesling. Beautiful acidity, chunkier candied aromas, nectarine, good minerality, clean, full body and a palate-long finish. An experience! Pairs well: smoked salmon and seafood, white meat, or a hearty “pot-au-feu”
Ana Maria Abbona, Sori Dij But, Piedmont, Dogliani, It., DOCG, 2018, Alc. 12.5%, Varietal: Dolcetto Tasting: Bold, structured, on the nose minerality, blackberry, violet, strawberry , ripening raspberry; on the palate this dry, earthy wine with some acidity offers strawberry, sage, black plum, cocoa, and chewy tannins. Pairs well: pizza, pasta, roast lamb, grilled meat
Belpoggio Rosso di Montalcino, Tuscany, It., 2018, Varietal: Sangiovese, Alc. 14% Tasting: Overall superb structure, lively acidity and so fresh. Dominating scents of red currants, hints of cherry, notes of chocolate, plum and cherry. Superb vintage. Pairs well: cured and grilled meats, veal, roast lamb, grilled poultry, medium seasoned cheese.
Chateau Pipeau, Grand Cru, Liournais, Saint-Emilion, 2018, Varietal: 90% Merlot, Cab. Franc, Cab Sauvignon Alc. 14%, Tasting: dry, medium to full body, complex, well-balanced. In the glass red and dark fruit, hints of mushroom, anise, mocha, ample oak and vanilla, smooth finish with baking spice… Pairs well: lamb, pork, roast chicken, Asian dishes, rich fish, mushrooms and pasta.
