For this Saturday’s Complimentary Wine Tasting we enter the New Year sampling an array of wine flavors represented by classic and emerging varietals, unexpected blends and the occasion to learn of both traditional and unique food pairings to elevate this collection of wines that may be new to your palette. Our guest host is Casey Gruttadauria, wine specialist with Ideal Wine & Spirits, whose portfolio features small, innovative wineries in Europe, the Continent and the Americas. As always, the tasting is elevated using our imported Riedel glassware

Clos-du-Mont-Olivet Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Blanc 2020, Alc. 13.5, Varietals: mostly Clairette 40%, Roussanne 30% + other So. Rhone varietals, Tasting: Enticing, with light brioche and macadamia nut notes leading off, while white peach, salted butter, acacia and heather hints fill in throughout….bright acidity of the vintage. The long finish is inlaid with an accent of wet stone. , Alc. 13.4% Varietals: Pinot Noir, Tasting: The color is a delight, see-thru garnet red. The nose is red berries and rich spice, French vanilla, sour cherry, and faint chocolate. This is a silky smooth, lively  Pinot Noir.
