What & Why:  Our “Six on Six” Saturday, February Fine Wine Tasting offers six distinctive tasting and learning experiences. Guest host & wine educator Bob McVicker has targeted both classic & trending wine regions featuring celebrated vintners and emerging innovators in pouring their wines from the Masciarelli Wine Company’s International Portfolio …tasters will experience 3 reds and  3 whites, bottles & styles that may be new to your palette…the opportunity to add new to your wine choices.  Always complimentary tastings, & as always, the tasting is elevated using our imported Riedel stemware.  

WHO: Guest host Bob McVicker, Masciarelli and Savour’s Kathleen Morgan have selected fine wines from classic & emerging regions in Europe, the Continent & the Americas

Sea Salter Semillon / Sauvignon Blanc. Groote Post, Darling Hills, So. Africa, 2021, Alc 13.5%,  Varietal: So. African Sauvignon Blanc, Tasting: Very enjoyable Sauvignon Blanc from Groote Post Vineyards in Darling. Very light in color with light hues of green, lovely nose filled tropical fruit. The palette is fresh, flowery, zesty & refreshing, grapefruit, gooseberries & passion fruit, crisp acidity, good lingering finish. Pairs Well: shellfish, vegetarian, goat cheese….$17.99

Clos de Rochers, Grand Premier Cru,  Pinot Blanc, Luxembourg, Moselle, 2018,

Varietal: Pinot Blanc, Tasting: In the glass a light citrus golden color. On the nose delicate aromas of peach, melon, citrus and some pear. On the palate dry,  good mouthfeel with nice acidity showing peach, melon, light grapefruit and a nice finish showing great minerality.

Varietal: Nebbiolo, Tasting: A fresh white wine, with crisp fruit tones is a reminder of the
region’s valley breezes. Pours straw with green highlights, and an intense aroma profile featuring lemon, green apple, floral, and wet stone characters. Firm acidity that is a signature of Nebbiolo (whether made into a white or red wine). A great year round choice.d
