WHAT:  If you miss a Saturday Wine Tasting** or none is scheduled…Join us to
experience  a “tech” tasting unique on the North Shore.  Sample our Digital Wine Machine for your personal tastings during each visit.  The wine machine offers 20 wines for tastings,
Tuesday thru Saturday. Using this “digital wiz” couldn’t be easier …and it’s complimentary.

HOW: Insert a plastic card into the slot – upper left side of each of the 4 units. Place glass
below a spout, and press the tab above the selected bottle …it’s a breeze.  

A Sampling of Wines to Experience

Ixsir “Altitudes” Rouge – Batroun, Lebanon.  indigenous Lebanese varietal, Caladoc, with Cabernet, Syrah, and Tempranillo, this full but soft red is ripe with black currant and raspberry fruit, topped with a bit of clove spice.  Pairs well: with grilled lamb, duck, or skirt steak.
Ixsir “Altitudes” Blanc – Batroun Lebanon.  indigenous varietal, Obeidy, with Muscat and Viognier, this full, aromatic white has notes of white peach, Jasmine, and nutmeg with a core of flint that makes it powerful and refreshing.  Pairs well: with baked Haddock, fish or clam chowder, and pasta Florentine.L’avenir, Stellenbosch, SA, single vineyard estate. 100% Chenin Blanc, 13.5 alc. Pairs well everything seafood.  
Minuty “M” Rosé – Côtes de Provence, France. produced from organically grown, hand-harvested Cinsault, Grenache, and Syrah grapes.  It is clean, light and crisp, with abundant raspberry and strawberry fruit for refreshing summer drinking.  Pairs well: with lobster, crab, or seafood salad or a cool Gazpacho!Viña Alberdi Rioja Reserva – Rioja, Spain.  100% Tempranillo grown organically, the grapes are crushed and fermented with full malolactic treatment, followed by two years of aging in America oak barrels, making for a luscious, powerful, serious wine.  Known for its versatility with food.  Pairs well: with everything from roast lamb to paella – the perfect red for any summer feast!

WHAT: Join us this Saturday, August 14th for a special complimentary wine tasting with wine and food specialist Anthony Sciarappa.  Anthony will be pouring wines from Carolina’s Connoisseur Portfolio, representing: Sonoma CA, Languedoc-Roussillon, Fr., Italy-Piedmont, Washington St., Oregon… the occasion to taste juicy, fresh summer wines …6 expressive bottles that may be new to your palette.  As always, the tasting is elevated using our imported Riedel stemware.  

WHY:  The opportunity to introduce tasters to wines with wide-ranging qualities…prized grape varietals from ascending and classic wine regions,… the perfect occasion to experience summer-centric wines that pair beautifully with all manner of outdoor cooking.

WHO: For this tasting wine specialist, food specialist and chef Anthony Sciarappa together with Savor’s Kathleen Morgan, have selected wines of innovative vintners for sultry summer outdoor dining…fresh, lighter wines perfect for August.

SATURDAY’S POURINGS INCLUDE

Neyers Sonoma County, Carneros – Chardonnay
From the coolest region of Carneros, unoaked, crisp, citrusy, and dry, reminiscent of fine Chablis. Great food wine.  Pairs well with oysters and cherrystone clams on the half shell.

   Domaine de Fontaine Gris de Gris Rose
From Kermit Lynch, Corbières, France, 90% Grenache Gris, 5% Carignan, 5% Mouvèdre, full-bodies and lush, brimming with strawberry summer fruit, but dry and crisp.  Pairs well with shrimp cocktail and salad Niçoise.

                                       Cantine Valpane Pietra Rosso Barber

Piedmont, Italy, 85% Barbera, 15% Fresia, all natural with indigenous yeast, unfiltered, fermented in concrete tanks with no oak, bright fruit, clean, summer red. Pairs well with

From a small family-owned winery in Oregon’s Willamette Valley, “clean, balanced, and well-structured, with a core of bright raspberry and boysenberry fruit, and a round mouthfeel.”  Pairs well with grilled Salmon, Artic Char, and mushroom tart.

                                        Hedges CMS Cabernet Sauvignon
Washington State, 76% Cabernet, 16% Syrah, 8% Merlot, barrel-aged in neutral French and American oak, “Cassis, black-pepper, fig, and cinnamon bark,” will age 5-10 years but drinking exquisitely now.  Pairs well with arugula, roast beef, and blue cheese salad.
