Specialty Release Parties will occur simultaneously at several locations in MA, NY, NY and PA

On Thursday, November 19th Cape Ann Brewing Company (CABC) will release a new special edition, barrel-aged brew called Pre-Dawn Trappist Ale. For over two years, the Pre-Dawn was aged in Cabernet Sauvignon barrels from  David Arthur Vineyards in Sonoma Valley. The aging process has given it a beautiful white wine characteristic that make this unique brew a brilliant blend of wine and beer; offering the pallet the best of both worlds. The Pre-Dawn release will be celebrated at the Pub at Cape Ann Brewing Company in Gloucester, MA. CABC will also partner with Sea Level Oyster Bar in Salem and Hops N Scotch in Brookline. At each of these three locations, kegs of the Pre-Dawn will be tapped at 4pm.

Outside of Massachusetts, CABC’s special release will also be celebrated by long-time collaborator, Barcade, LLC. All five Barcade locations (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Jersey City, New Jersey; Brooklyn, NY; and the two locale’s in Manhattan on St. Marks and on 23rd St in Chelsea) will pour the limited edition ale.

CABC representatives will be at each location for the celebrations and founder and Head Brewer, Jeremy Goldberg will visit all five Barcade locations during this special event starting in Philly and making his way through Jersey City, Manhattan and finishing up in Brooklyn.

Prezza’s Anthony Caturano Announces Gloucester Restaurant & Raw Bar: Tonno
Famed North End restaurateur & chef to open coastal Italian seafood concept

image

North End restaurateur and chef, Anthony Caturano Prezza), has announced he will open a restaurant this spring in Gloucester: Tonno, Italian for “tuna.” Tonno is slated to open in May and will be housed in the former Blackburn Tavern space. Blending together Caturano’s favorite culinary styles, Tonno will feature coastal Italian seafood and a raw bar.

The 4,000 square foot venue will undergo a full renovation over the winter and the new space will be outfitted with a dining room, a lounge complete with a fireplace, a cocktail bar, a raw bar and a private events room. Seating 99 people, Tonno will have partial ocean views and will be open year-round.

Chef Caturano will design a culinary program that is rooted in coastal Italian seafood classics with specials that reflect the New England waters daily catches. Guests can expect to see items like roasted cod oreganata, coppino, octopus salad and roasted whole branzino. At the oyster bar, hyper-local varieties will be shucked and served with an array of accompaniments.

The beverage program will consist of classic Italian cocktails and a selection of craft beers. From the vine, there will be a curated list of about 150 wines that are mainly focused on Italian varietals, with some additions from Spain and California.

Tonno will open at Two Main Street in Gloucester in the spring of 2016. Tonno will be open for dinner service nightly. Stay updated on the latest developments by following Tonno on Facebook.

The Taste of Cape Ann Call to Action for Restaurants and Foodies

taste of cape ann logo

The most delicious fundraiser of the year is nearly here – it’s time to get your restaurant registered or your event ticket ordered. Last year’s event included nearly three dozen food and beverage purveyors and nearly 300 guests!

The Cape Ann YMCA’s 7th Annual “Taste of Cape Ann” returns to Cruiseport Gloucester  on Thursday, November 12, from 6-9PM. The event features the best of Cape Ann eateries offering food, wine and spirits for one $25 ticket price with the proceeds of ticket sales going to support Cape Ann YMCA Teen Service Initiatives.

The service trips enable local youth to spend a week working in communities hit by environmental and economic devastation. Teens participate in learning modules before and after traveling on school break to offer hands-on aid in areas of great need. The New Orleans Mission, now in its 5th year, originated as a Cape Ann trip but has generated enough interest to cause its expansion to include youth throughout the North Shore YMCA system.

Taste of Cape Ann is:

A great place to showcase your business in front of people who’ll be dining local all winter

A great PR opportunity – your business in the spotlight helping your community and those beyond

A great place for locals to sample food and drink from their Cape Ann food choices

A great reason to get out and support kids doing good

We will heavily promote the event and announce event contributors as they come in on Facebook. We will also provide colorful event flyers to hang in your shop window announcing your participation in the 7th Annual Taste of Cape Ann. Free press and food blogger tickets mean even more local food-focused coverage of the event. Fun event, local audience, free press and a good cause for some really great kids.

RESTAURANT INFO:

Restaurants wishing to participate should contact Jennifer Amero at JameroMarketingSuite@gmail.com .

There is no vendor fee. We ask only that you read and sign the logistics/registration form, plan to bring enough food for 250 guests to have a small sampling of your best buzz-worthy offering and that you come prepared to hand out menus and advertising information and anything you want to get in front of local diners. To that end, restaurateurs should plan on staying through the event or sending a sociable representative from their venue to help in a great PR opportunity for a great cause. (Detailed logistics will be sent upon signing on).

TICKET INFO: Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here: https://northshoreymca.ejoinme.org/2015toca?_ga=1.105507779.1325545102.1440005111
