News from Latitude 43 – Outdoor Seating All Year + Seasonal Hours

If you haven’t heard yet, we need to let you in on a little secret: Latitude 43 now has some serious heaters (trust us, these things are legit) so you can dine on their deck all year long. Picture it: Sipping cocktails and enjoying sushi, under the awing, while the snow literally falls around you.

Latitude for gmgBut let’s not get too ahead of ourselves, for now let’s focus on this glorious season: fall. The crisp, fall air, views of the harbor, a tasty beer (like the new pumpkin draft rotation*), all enjoyed while you’re warm and cozy outside on Latitude’s deck. It’s basically perfection.

Speaking of the changing seasons, starting the week of October 19th Latitude 43 and Minglewood Tavern’s seasonal hours will go into effect. Latitude 43 will be serving lunch and dinner Wednesday through Sunday; Minglewood will open at 4:00 PM Wednesday & Thursday and noon Friday through Sunday; both locations will be closed on Monday & Tuesday.

That said, the restaurants are still going to offer all your favorite specials and entertainment, they’re just shifting days. All You Can Eat Sushi will be available on Sunday at Latitude 43, while Minglewood will have NFL Sunday ticket on down the hall. Stump Trivia and 43 Cent Wings will now be on Wednesday Nights and Tres Tacos is now on Thursday – how’s that for some alliteration!?

  • Friday: Live Music at Minglewood
  • Saturday: Live Music at Minglewood
  • Sunday: All You Can Eat Sushi at Latitude 43 & NFL Sunday Ticket at Minglewood

RoadsMary Baby

*The latest pumpkin beer in rotation is Two Roads’ Roadsmary’s Baby. This ale is aged in Caribbean Rum barrels and has all the pumpkin flavor you want, with notes of vanilla, oak and a hint of rum, making it a strong contender to become your new fall favorite – and there’s only one keg of it, so make sure to come try it sooner than later.

NFL Sunday Ticket & the Tailgater Combo at Minglewood

Minglewood has 8 TVs and NFL Sunday Ticket, so you can literally watch any game you want, any given Sunday during the football season.

The Perfect Way to Wrap Up a Visit to the Sidewalk Bazaar… or Work Day

You’ve strolled along Main Street, checked out the great deals (50% off a huge selection of items at Life is Good anyone?!?), picked up some great gifts to stash away for the kids, and even toyed with the idea of buying a hole new wardrobe of flowy skirts… now what?

APPY HOUR!

Head to Duncan Street, make a right and claim your seat at the Alchemy Bar for Appy Hour. Alchemy offers an Appy Hour menu everyday of the week from 5:00 – 6:00 PM at the bar.  The Appy Hour menu consist of a selection of delicious appetizers for just $6. Yes, just $6. Alchemy_Cocktail

So make your way to Alchemy bar at 5:00, admire your Bazaar purchases (Jessica, the fabulous bartender, will love checking out what you snagged), sip a cocktail and enjoy the Appy Hour menu.

You Just Gotta Try It

Yes, that’s a house made jalapeño popper and bacon.

On the left: The Bloody Hammer with house infused jalapeño tequila, topped with house made jalapeño popper

AND to the right: The Bacon Bloody with house infused bacon vodka, topped with candied bacon.

These are just two of the many delicious cocktails on Alchemy’s Brunch menu. Alchemy serves brunch on Saturday & Sunday from 10:30 AM – 3:00 PM, with live music on Sundays starting at noon.

You have to try this…

Alchemy just introduced a new menu, with plenty of delicious summery items like the Scallop Crudo and First Pick Strawberry Salad, but the dish we can’t get enough of is the Potato Croquette.

It’s like arancini meets mozzarella stick meets potato, but its somehow surprising light.  Trust us, you just need to try it.

Underutilized Seafood Dinner to Benefit Maritime Gloucester

As much as we hate to think about it, a lot of the seafood that was once associated with Gloucester is now no longer actually landed here. That said, there are still many, tasty species of fish that are caught off of Gloucester’s shores.

Latitude 43 and Maritime Gloucester have teamed up again for the Second Annual Maritime Gloucester Dinner to showcase underutilized, local seafood. The four-course menu highlights the fresh seafood and each course is thoughtfully paired with “underutilized” wine varietals, to offer new ideas for seafood & wine pairings.

The dinner will be held on Tuesday, May 19th at 6:30 PM at Latitude 43. Please call (978.281.0223) for reservations as space is limited.

A portion of the evening’s proceeds will go to benefit the Maritime Gloucester.
